Born in Rajshahi on May 17, 1960, Captain Momtaz dedicated his life to the sea with unwavering professionalism and integrity. Throughout his maritime career, he served with MISC Gas Tankers, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues for his competence, discipline, and commitment to the highest standards of seamanship. He signed off from his final voyage only ten months ago, bringing to a close a career marked by dedication and honorable service.
Despite facing a serious illness with courage and dignity, Captain Momtaz ultimately succumbed to stomach cancer. He leaves behind his beloved wife and only son, who now carry the cherished memories of a devoted husband, loving father, and respected mariner. His passing is a profound loss not only to his family but also to his fellow alumni and the wider maritime fraternity.
His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at Hamza Masjid after the Zuhr (Johor) prayer, followed by his burial at the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH), Waller Cemetery. Family, friends, and members of the Bangladeshi community are expected to gather to pay their final respects and pray for his eternal peace.
