M. Hasan Shahid (12E) No More…

With deep sadness, we have learned of the passing of our fellow alumnus, M. Hasan Shahid (12E), who left this world on 8 November 2025 in Dhaka.

Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun.

Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.

Mr. Shahid was a gentle, sincere, and dedicated member of our maritime fraternity. After completing his early education at Dhaka College, he pursued specialized studies in Marine & Offshore Engineering at South Tyneside College in the United Kingdom, a well-respected institution known for shaping competent maritime professionals. His academic and professional journey reflected his commitment to mastering the craft of maritime engineering and contributing to the broader maritime training sector in Bangladesh.

He served as an Instructor at the United Maritime Academy, imparting knowledge and guidance to countless young cadets and helping shape the next generation of officers. His role in maritime education was not just a profession but a meaningful service, a way to give back to the community and the industry he deeply cared about. Students and colleagues remember him for his calm demeanor, respectful manner, and willingness to help others. His passing creates a void that will be felt across the fraternity of mariners and educators.

The maritime community mourns this loss. The Bangladesh Marine Academy alumni family, in particular, stands in solidarity with his loved ones during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all those who were touched by his kindness and professionalism.

May Allah, the Most Merciful, grant him Jannatul Firdous and envelop his soul in infinite peace.
