কখনো যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের, কখনো সুইজারল্যান্ডের, কখনোবা সিঙ্গাপুরের কোম্পানিই ঘুরেফিরে এক কার্গো-দুই কার্গো করে তরলীকৃত প্রাকৃতিক গ্যাস (এলএনজি) সরবরাহের কাজ পেয়ে আসছিল এত দিন। এবার এক কার্গো এলএনজি সরবরাহের কাজ পেয়েছে কোরিয়ার কোম্পানি পসকো ইন্টারন্যাশনাল করপোরেশন। আজ বৃহস্পতিবার ঢাকায় সচিবালয়ে অর্থ উপদেষ্টা সালেহউদ্দিন আহমেদের সভাপতিত্বে অনুষ্ঠিত ক্রয়সংক্রান্ত উপদেষ্টা পরিষদ কমিটির বৈঠকে এ বিষয়ে একটি ক্রয় প্রস্তাব অনুমোদিত হয়েছে। এতে ব্যয় হবে ৬৯৩ কোটি টাকা। এক কার্গো সমান ৩৩ লাখ ৬০ হাজার মিলিয়ন মেট্রিক ব্রিটিশ থার্মাল ইউনিট (এমএমবিটিইউ) এলএনজি। প্রস্তাবটির আওতায় প্রতি এমএমবিটিইউ এলএনজির দাম ধরা হয় ১৪ দশমিক ৬৯ মার্কিন ডলার। এই এলএনজি আসবে ২০২৫ সালের জানুয়ারি মাসের জন্য। এর আগে গত ৪ নভেম্বর জ্বালানি ও খনিজ সম্পদ বিভাগ ২০২৫ সালের জানুয়ারি-ডিসেম্বর সময়ের মধ্যে স্পট মার্কেট থেকে ৫৯ কার্গো এলএনজি আমদানির সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়। সে অনুযায়ী সম্প্রতি আন্তর্জাতিক দর প্রস্তাব আহ্বান করা হলে তিনটি দরপত্র কারিগরি ও আর্থিকভাবে রেসপনসিভ হয়। এর মধ্যে কোরিয়ার পসকো ইন্টারন্যাশনাল সর্বনিম্ন দরদাতা (১৪.৬৯ ডলার) হিসেবে কাজ পায়।...

The Israel Defense Forces issued a statement confirming that the air force struck Houthi targets in Israel’s fourth retaliation against the Houthi drone and surface-to-surface missile attacks. Israel called the strikes precision attacks against the military infrastructure used by the Houthis and to smuggle Iranian weapons into the region. Israel’s Ministry of Defense and Prime Minister approved the strike plan for the Israel Air Force with unconfirmed reports from Yemen saying as many as 10 targets were struck following similar strikes by Israel a week ago. JERUSALEM, Dec 26 (Reuters) – Israel struck multiple targets linked to the Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen on Thursday, including Sanaa International Airport, and Houthi media said three people were killed. The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said he was about to board a plane at the airport when it came under attack. A crew member on the plane was injured, he said in a statement. The Israeli military said that in addition to striking the airport, it also hit military infrastructure at the ports of Hodeidah, Salif and Ras Kanatib on Yemen’s west coast. Amid the ongoing crisis in Bangladesh, a second container ship from Pakistan has arrived at Chittagong Port. The container ship reached Chittagong a day after Bangladesh’s interim government’s chief adviser, Muhammad Yunus, held a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Cairo.
