Description: In Chittagong. Received Master of Science degree from the faculty of Maritime Administration & Maritime Safety and Environmental Protection (MA & MSEP), World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden, in September 2001. He obtained the first position in the faculty of MA & MSEP and his dissertation titled "Moving to zero: The potential for improving environmental protection under the discharge regime of Annex I of MARPOL 73/78" was considered to be the best among all faculties for year 2001. Serving Mercantile Marine Department, Department of Shipping, Government of Bangladesh, as Engineer & Ship Surveyor. Residing in Chittagong with his wife Mrs. Shaheen Akter Khanom Selina (02/05/91), daughter Afia Abida Binte Shafiq (05/08/94) and son Taqui Tahmeed Bin Shafiq (18/09/92).
