Mariners Name: Khairul Anam

Description: In UK. Presently working with the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA), an Executive Agency of the Department for Transport, as Principal Marine Surveyor/Principal Examiner of Masters and Mates and Surveyor-in-Charge at Great Yarmouth Marine Office (MO), Norfolk. After joing the then MSA in 1994, he worked as Marine Surveyor at Aberdeen and London MO before taking up his present position in 1999. Before joining MCA he was working in Bangladesh Shipping Corporation (BSC) as General Manager (Operations). Capt Anam obtained an MSc degree from the World Maritime University (WMU), Malmo, Sweden in 1991. While at the WMU, he was President of the Students Council in 1991. He was founder secretary of the Nautical Institue (NI), Bangladesh Branch. He is a Fellow of the NI and also the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, London. He resides in Norwich (Norfolk), England, with his wife and three children.
