Obituary of Chief Engineer Faiz Ahmed Biswas (2E)

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our great senior, Chief Engineer Faiz Ahmed Biswas (2E), on 19th August 2025.

He completed his HSC from Faujdarhat Cadet College and briefly joined the Chemistry Department of Dhaka University in 1962. In 1963, he was admitted to the Chittagong Marine Academy as an Engineering Cadet of the 2nd Batch, embarking on a lifelong journey of service to the maritime profession.

Chief Engineer Biswas endured the difficult challenges of Parkinson’s disease and dementia in his later years, both of which were profoundly debilitating. Yet, his legacy of discipline, professionalism, and mentorship remains deeply cherished.

Our junior, Md. Ershadul Alam (35N), movingly recalled:

“Assalamualaikum,
Deeply saddened to hear about the sad demise of our respected senior C/E Faiz Ahmed Biswas (2E). (Inna Lillahi wa inna Ilaihi Raji’un). I had a chance to sail with him in 2005 on M.V. SOLAR EUROPE as 3rd Officer. Faiz Sir was a thorough gentleman and a man of discipline.
May Allah forgive him and grant Jannah.”

We join in prayers for Engr. Faiz Ahmed Biswas, asking Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him a place in Jannatul Ferdous, and bestow patience and strength upon his family and loved ones.
