I was informed by Commodore Afzalul Haque, our Defence Attaché in Brasilia, Brazil, that he has received his Venezuelan visa and will be traveling to Venezuela to meet with the Venezuelan authorities. This meeting is vital to address the situation of the vessel Meghna Prestige, along with its crew and Captain Mahbubur Rahman, who is currently in custody.

On behalf of the Bangladesh Marine Academy Alumni Association (BMAAA) and the broader maritime community, we extend our heartfelt prayers for Captain Mahbub and his crew. We stand in unwavering solidarity with our alumni and fellow Bangladeshi seafarers who are enduring this incredibly difficult time.

May justice prevail, and may they soon find relief from this ordeal.
