Possible Somali piracy incident raises alarm in the industry

The European Union Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) has reported a new suspected pirate action group (PAG) departing from Somalia’s coast, signalling a possible resurgence in Somali piracy.
According to various reports, thirteen armed pirates set off from Ceel Huur and Ivo Hobyo, raising alarms across the shipping industry. To remind, in 2023, pirates hijacked two vessels, MV Ruen and MV Abdullah, which were liberated after months of negotiations.
