My brother MIR MAHFUZUR RAHMAN (MUGDHO) was shot on head and died on the spot

My younger brother one of the twins MIR MAHFUZUR RAHMAN (MUGDHO) was shot on head and died on the spot. ( Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun)

On 18th July 2024 during the protest of Quota he and his friends were helping the students  by supplying water and biscuits with his own money. As he was a great leader from his early life and involved himself for various social works such as a scout leader, the convenor in his beloved Khulna University, so on and it was a duty for him to help the people. He was against the “Politics” but with the “Rights”. Even when he was shot on head he was holding the watercase in his hand at the mid of the road divider near Azampur, Uttara “Crescent Hospital”. The bullet just went through the forhead making a very small hole and leaving a big hole underneath the right ear it went outside. His friend Ashik took him immediately from there to the nearest hospital while lots of polices were already rushing there. My brother was never against the police and used to say that they are just following the orders but they should have their personal ethics and should deny to follow any unethical orders. It was his belief. He was a true merit, a gem!

 However I don’t want to share much in public place, just writing here to let everyone know about his death and let me know if he owes any money/properties to you so that I can repay you instantly if you provide some minimum proof too. As far I know he didn’t owe anything to anyone and till now I didn’t find anyone rather some people owe money to him. If you think that you should return then you can or we will never claim those and we forgive you for those. It’s a humble request to share this post or my this message to everyone, specially to my brother’s known one so that I can ensure he owes nothing to anyone. This is the main reason for writing this post and to use the social media to reach as many people as possible.

Primary school: Islamic Education Society (I.E.S) School and College.

High School and College: Uttara High School and College

Graduation: Khulna University (Mathematics 19 Batch)

Further study: He was doing M.B.A in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP)

** He was a unit leader in Armed Police Battalion Scout group.

** He achieved “National Service Award” from Bangladesh scouts.

** He was the convenor in Khulna University from his Batch. 

** He was a good sportsman and very known to a lot of people as a good football player.

** He was a good singer and guitarist 

** He was very fond of travelling and had a wish to have pictures with all 64 district’s circuit houses. 

** He used to earn his own money by doing freelancing and bear all his cost along with his education, living etc. Moreover he used to provide money to support his family.

** Amongst our all brothers he used to care most of our mother and gave all the supports she needed at any time.  

Death: 18 July 2024

Note: I am sharing one small video of my brother of that day which was taken by his friend using my brother’s mobile just before 15 mins of his death. This video is just to clarify his doings to you so that you don’t misunderstand anything about him and his motives. I had to edit this video a little just to remove the ciggerate from his hand as the video was not made for publicity. He never made any videos or pictures for doing publicity. *** My father always taught us to live by keeping our backbone straight. Never to bend to anyone without Almighty Allah. To help people and to have our rights. My father supported my brother’s willingness to help the students from the very beginning as it was for the “Rights”. 

*** A lot of people helped my family during our this distress. I am really grateful to them from the core of my heart. If I start mentioning their name the list will not end. Again thanks a lot and people like you will always be remembered in our family. 

*** I wish all of you could have seen his face after the death, his smiling face and he was really glowing. People who came to see him can tell you better.  Please forgive my brother if he did any mistakes, bad behaviours or anything which hurt you.  Also please pray for all the people who died for this cause. I wish and pray that my beloved brother can rest in peace. 

He used to say ” Zindegi badi ho ni chahiye, Lambi nehi”. – yes brother, you proved it right too.
