Surveyor fell descending from anchored bulk carrier, died | NERAIDA

A surveyor died after falling from a mother vessel at the outer anchorage of Payra Port in Kalapara Upazila on Wednesday, December 22nd night.

The deceased, Shamim Fayez, 65, son of late Abul Fayez under Dhaka North City Corporation, was serving at Assertive Valuers Pvt Ltd, a survey firm in Khulna.

According to the workers, Shamim boarded a coal-carrying mother vessel MV Nerida from Indonesia on Wednesday to measure the quantity of the imported coal.

After he completed his work, he began descending to moored alongside bulk carrier lighter ship, which initially, took him to bulk carrier.
