Honorable seniors, batch-mates and beloved juniors,

Assalamualikum.

I would like to take the opportunity to inform all Seafarers, Agencies and Shipping companies about our global platform for seafarers.

Normally after every voyage a seafarer has to go or send email to every agency to give their updated CV, which is not only time consuming but also hesitating for young seafarers.

For seafarer like me, being a senior officer with permanent contract in a reliable company may not to send the CV, but majority of the seafarers are on contractual services. An agent also has to collect all the latest data from seafarers by email and update their static database or an excel sheet manually again and again.

A different way of doing the same thing is every seafarer maintains and updates their own data in a privacy controlled platform in a secured server where they:

•    Can join their favorite & verified agency, can authorize them to see the profile & CV and every individual Certificate, document with auto expiry notification in advance by email to both the seafarer and their connected Agent.
•    Update their sea service records which automatically calculate the number of voyages and sea time rank-wise and ready to show their connected Agency.
•    Even If they want, they can stay in private so that no one can see them or their data.
•    Facility of uploading files together with data can also be there as an option like Google Drive.
•    In the same place Agency will be able to invite, search or sort seafarers according to rank, their rank experiences or the availability of the seafarer,
•    Can post their vacancy which automatically goes to all regional seafarer’s email of required rank, seafarers can apply with one click, and upon authorization,    respective Agency can see privacy filtered data of the applicants.
•    International ship owners can also connect to the local agencies, see the statistics of seafarers according to rank and experiences, and hire them from the agency of their choice with minimum efforts and cost.

I am happy to announce that, www.connectingseafarer.com has already implemented most of above and developing more features.

In connecting seafarer, An agency does not need to provide seafarers data from their database, and seafarers have been given the complete control over their “Profile Privacy” and “Data Privacy”. Currently 10 well known Agencies have been invited and all joined where number of Seafarers is also increasing (currently~300). When this numbers grows to a convincing level, we will reach out to international companies to join connecting seafarer and connect directly with local agents for seafarers.

Our aim is to build an easier and interesting system for international companies so that they can hire qualified seafarers via local registered agency with minimum efforts.

Connecting Seafarer is a Social Project developed by our registered IT Company “Marinoft” located in SS Khaled Road, Kazir Dewri, Chittagong, All the data sent from this site is encrypted with SSL, all the files (only PDF & Image) uploaded are highly protected.

Connecting Seafarer is free for seafarers, and basic features for Agencies are also free. Connecting Seafarer will not work as a local Agency rather it will focus on building global connections between the agencies and seafarers.

I would finally invite all seafarers to join connecting seafarer, utilize all flexible features according to your need, connect with your favorite agency and apply to available vacancies.
