23 Bangladeshi seafarers join an Ultra Large Container vessel MV Meishan Bridge in Japan
On June 06, 2018 at Imabari Shipbuilding Shipyard Japan Flag 14,000-TUES new building container vessel MV Meishan Bridge was taken over by full Bangladeshi seafarers from Haque & Sons Ltd. This is the first time in history of Bangladesh where Ultra Large Container series vessel of 14,000 was taken over by 23 seafarers including officers and ratings under the excellent leadership of Capt. Omar Kabir and Chief Engineer Md Ali Hassan from Bangladesh.
Haque & Sons is proud to be part of the process in grooming, training and maintaining the pool of KLSM crew since 1997.Capt. Saydur Rahman Executive Director was invited in delivery ceremony along with official delegates from Kline Group.
Tokyo-based Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line) took delivery of the 14,000-TEU at Imabari Shipbuilding Company’s Hiroshima Shipyard in Japan. “K” Line has a total of five ULCSs scheduled for delivery this year.
These vessels will be operated under Ocean Network Express Pte. Ltd. (ONE), a joint venture of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” Line), Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd (“MOL”), and Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (“NYK”).
