Message from F R Chowdhury of First Batch

I am very delighted to know that Juldia Marine Academy Alumni Association (JMAAA) is holding its AGM and a general reunion of all ex-cadets of the Marine Academy on 30-12-2017. I regret I cannot attend but I wish the event every success.

On this occasion I call up on all ex-cadets of the Marine Academy to unite under one banner and work together for the betterment of the community. While this remains an organization of ex-cadets, Bangladesh Merchant Navy Officers’ Association (BMNOA) remains the organization of all merchant navy officers irrespective of their roots or background. Let unity prevail in both organizations. Our goals and aspirations are similar.

At this moment we have to work in close cooperation with the Government to try for full employment of all our ex-cadets. We have to solve visa/ travel problem especially for Singapore and Dubai so that our seafarers can join ships without any hindrance. We should work together to determine the optimum number of cadets to be trained so that no academy trained cadet has to roam around on the streets begging for job.

Finally, may we request the Government to get the senior professionals from these two organizations and the Bangladesh branches of NI and IMAREST involved in various decision making process for the development of ports, shipping and other maritime related projects.

Allah will help us if we work hard with honesty, sincerity and devotion. Amen.
