A Memorable Day at London: IMO, IMarEST, ITF, Prof Rotter – 27 Jan 2017
1. Visited IMarEST HQ and had a fruitful discussion with IMarEST Chief Excutive Mr. David Loosley & Ms. Charlotte Lord, Comm Director on:
(i) Free Student Membership (for our Cadets), …
(ii) Bangladesh Branch Membership Talk,
(iii) Online/E-Learning based higher studies through IMarEST with upto 75% financial assistance and
(iv) visiting Bangladesh by IMarEST Chief Excutive & associates.

2. Visited IMO HQ and discussed with IMO Secretary General Dr. Kitack Lim on:
(i) Our proposal of conducting WMU MSc course at our Academy,
(ii) Employment difficulty of our Cadets,
(iii) Introduction of Female Cadets at BMA & their future,
(iv) Introduction of elements like shipping trade, Maritime Economics, Port/shipping management in newly introduced 4-years’ honours course,
(v) BMA’s active role in IMO-NORAD funded SENSREC project,
(vi) My role as an IMO Maritime Ambassador and
(vii) Visiting Bangladesh.

3. Visited ITF HQ and discussed with Dr. Asif Altaf, Global HIV/AIDS & Wellbeing Programme Director of ITF and Ms. Kimberly Karlshoej, Head of ITF Seafarers’ Trust on:
(i) Conducting a brief session on HIV/AIDS for our Cadets every year (at free of charge),
(ii) More areas of cooperation,
(iii) My study at WMU Sweden (MSC in Maritime Safety: 1998) under an ITF Fellowship; videoed a brief interview on it (to be displayed in their website) and
(iv) ITF Sponsored BMA’s participation in ITF Cruise Ship Seminar at Cebu, Philippines on 1-3 March 2017.

4. Meeting with respected Prof. K R G ROTTER after about 8 years. He travelled about 125 miles to London to meet with me. He was with me while visiting IMarEST & ITF. As a Student of him – this is a great caring from a great caring Teacher! We had lunch together too! At 4:26 PM, he left by train from King’s Cross St. Pancras station and I returned to the Bryson Hotel.
