Members of ex-cadets of Bangladesh Marine Academy formed a human chain in front of Chittagong Press Club at around 11am for their various demands including to stop ‘corruption’ in issuing of CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate).

Later, the leaders of the former students held a press conference at the press club and sought Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention in resolving the problems.

They said all the successful students in marine cadet are yet to get job. But the authorities are going to issue CDC for the students of Marine Fisheries Academy who came out successful recently. They said if the authorities issued CDC for them, the number of unemployment cadets will be increased.
If the authorities issued CDC for the students of Marine Fisheries Academy, Bangladesh will be black listed by the European countries and thousands of cadets will lose their jobs, said the leaders in the briefing.

Ratul Hasan, one of the leaders and students of 49th Batch of Bangladesh Marine Academy, said issuing CDC for the students of Marine Fisheries Academy means led to in danger the marine cadets.
Some people are trying to issue CDC for them, if they get CDC within two-three years International Maritime Organisation (IMO) will black list Bangladesh, added Ratul.
