Elahi Chowdhury (5th batch) no more

I am very sad to inform you all that our beloved friend and batch mate Elahi Chowhurdy has just passed away today around 1900 hrs.  His Namaza -e- Janaja is expected to be on 10th. June to a nearby mosque around his house.

Elahi Chowhurdy has an excellent carrier on his record.

He is from 5th. batch.

He was a Cadet Captain in Marine Academy.

He was awarded Commandant’s Medal as one of the best Engineering Cadet.

He served with dignity and pride. Eventually came on shore after working as Chief Engineer.

He was a well reputed Surveyor at Chittagong Port.

His last assignment was as Senior Instructor with Hoq Sons’ Marine Academy.

MarEngr. A Y M Elahi Chowdhury (5th) was Visiting Marine Engineer Instructor at Bangladesh Marine Academy during 2010-2012. Since then he was Engineer Instructor at International Maritime Academy. He studied in (1) St. Gregory’s High School [1953-64], Dhaka, (2) Bangladesh Marine Academy [1968-70] & (3) South Tyneside College [1979], UK.

He was a Cadet Captain in Marine Academy (Fore Top) and was awarded Commandant’s Medal as one of the best Engineering Cadets. He served with dignity and pride. Eventually came ashore after serving as a Chief Engineer. A man of higher credentials, a well reputed Surveyor at Chittagong Port with his last assignment as a Senior Instructor with Hoq Sons’ Marine Academy.

Captain Tariq Mahmood of 7^th batch write; “I am deeply shocked and sad to know the untimely death of Elahi Bhai. He was the one who inspired me to join the Marine Academy. I also had the opportunity to work with him, know him and his family closely. No words are good enough to describe his humanity and his loving character. We can only pray to Allah for salvation of his soul. May Allah rest his soul in peace & in heaven ….. Amen!!!
