Innailaihi Wainnailaihe Rajeeun.

This is to inform you all that Mr. Abul Hasem Bhuiyan, Ex-Chief Education Officer of Bangladesh Marine Academy (1983 till 2011) passed away at 2.30pm on 15 October 2014.

Also very sad to inform that Academy Cadet Shamim Al-Mamun (50th Batch, Cadet No. 4071) died of a road accident on 12 October 2014.

Marine Academy will have a special doa at Academy Mosque after today’s Jumma prayer for both of them.

Our prayers with them.

With Kind Regards

Inna lillahi wa innaelahi raziun.

I got him as Education Officer during my cadet life, What I can remember about him now is all Good. May Allah award him Jannat.

Inna lillahe wa inna ilaihe rajeun. May Allah bring eternal peace to both. A great loss for the Academy and the BD mariners community.

Last time I met Hashem Bhuiyan sir was in 2005 when I went to Academy to get his written reference and his answers to a set of questionnaire about myself for admission into an MSc course at City University (London). When I walked into his office it was 13 years since passing out. Yet, he adressed me by my name when he saw me walk in. That was my first shock. The second shock was when he said, ” I want you to get this admission, so write whatever fulfills your dream and I will sign it”. It’s true that we only know a person’s real self in times of need. My heart really feels heavy at his death.

may the Almighty rest him peace.
