First VC Appointed at Bangabandhu Maritime University
The government has appointed Registrar, Treasurer and Vice Chancellor for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University. Rear Admiral of Navy, ASMA Baten has been appointed as the first VC. Commodore Khandakar Toufikujjaman appointed as the Registrar and Commodore ANA Rejaul Haque appointed as the Treasurer.
The President and the Chancellor has appointed them, informed by notification of the Ministry of Education. The Vice-Chancellor and the Treasurer has been appointed for four years. The current government takes steps to establish Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University at Anwara, Chittagong.
President of Bangladesh on 6th October 2013 agreed with the law to establish this university. Undergraduate and Master’s level teaching and research will be conducted in this university in Secure Shipping Lane Management & Administration, Nautical Engineering & Technology, Oceanography and International Maritime Law subjects.
The first Maritime University of the country was established on over 35 acres unused land of Bangladesh Maritime Academy. This is the second Maritime University in South Asia. Bachelor of Maritime Science Degree will be given to the Marine Cadets by the international standards from this university which is currently being provided under the National University (NU).

Does Bangladesh need a Marine University? Is it not an another useless institution this silly government has established to add Mujib’s name? Those you who have become VC, Registrar etc would be doing good job going back to your job in the navy rather than working in this nonsense university.
Two words – rubbish and bogus.

No proper homework has been done before the maritime university call. Its all to give the name of Sheikh Mujib. If the intention is political then the success would not be good one. It hear grand but working may not be grand. Another way of doing corruption by the politicians

Bravo! Finally establishment of a Madrasa.Mujib dreamt of it when he was a kid. Now it has come true. Waiting for Navy to take over BSC as well, just like some Air Force knuckle dragger took over Biman and ran it to ground.
The last commandant gets all the kudos for doing this. May be he was thinking of getting into politics? Another good for nothing prick!
Why it needs only navy guys to step foot for VC , REG, etc. Nowhere in the world there is such stupid idea to allow this shallow water navy to grab such specialised educational institute! In a country named Bangladesh, anything can happen ? Idiots!
