Dear Sarwar and Fazlul,

Thank you for standing up and helping Akhtar Hossain. We are all united with you to help Akthar in whichever way we can. We have reached out to all mariners in US, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Australia, Bangladesh and worldwide and urged them to help at this critical time of his life.

Mariners can send check (in USD) made out to JMAAA and send to their USA office at 236 Ernston Road, Parlin, N.J. 08859, USA. We are also going to arrange credit card system for easy money transfer. It will be activated by Tuesday next week. Please keep tuned.

    Thank you very much for your prompt action in aid of Akhtar Hossain. In this connection I would like to remind you that there should be some fund available with the Merchant Navy Officers Benevolent Fund of which I am a life member. Unfortunately, I never hear of any activity of this fund or any statement thereof. Since this fund is more than 25 years old, there should be substantial amount available for helping people like Akhtar Hossain. Please do let me know if you know anything about this fund, as I do not know who are managing this fund on our behalf.
