Marine Academy Golden Jubilee & Mariners Get-Together

Dear Ex Cadets of Marine Academy (1^st to 47^th),     

Assalamualaikum .

In line with our initial declaration vide our E-mail on 1^st August 2012 (proposing 15~30 th Dec) & final declaration vide our E-mail on 21 Nov 2012 (declaring the firm date as 4^th & 5^th Jan 2013, we are further announcing that the reunion of the Marine Academy Ex Cadets will take place in the Marine Academy on 4^th & 5th Jan 2013,  under the arrangement & leadership of the Ex Cadets with full cooperation from the Commandant & the Academy Management .

The arrangement is being looked after by the Organizing Committee, purposely formed for the celebration, intimated earlier & enlarged further ( enclosed again) .

Pls do make up your plans & attend the ceremony, & make it a grand success ; although for various reasons neither we could give long-time prior declaration nor we have ample time to organize but pls be assured that it is being well organized & you will enjoy & also there will be no jubilee soon for many of us to see .

Once again our apologies for insufficient time for individual planning ; trust you will appreciate the situation as there is no convenient time considering all aspects until next winter which is too far to keep the momentum on .

Ex Cadets living abroad are urged to make it possible as best as possible .

For your understanding & preparation pls note flwg : 

1. 1.    VENUE : Fully Academy premises ;

1. 2.    TIME : 4^th Jan 0800 hrs to 5^th 1600 hrs ;

1. 3.    REGISTRATION :  Fixed at 5000/-, for couple/single ; Registration prior 28^th Dec/Friday will allow discounted rate of 4000/- (Early bird incentive) .

Plus 1000/- for each child (over 6 yrs) & drivers, in any case .

Batch No. 47 (that will just pass out then) will be free from registration fees, Batch No. 45 & 46, will pay only 1000/- each .

1. 4.    PLANNING OF EVENTS : Programs will cover Registration, Games, Children activities, Ladies activities, Cultural show (cadets + imported artists),  Business hours, Presentation ceremony, Recalling memories, Happy hours etc .

Tentatively the program will spread as follows :

 

Ist day/4^th Jan/Friday =

Arrival & Registration : 0800- 1000 hrs followed by Refreshment & declaration of opening ;

1030- 2400 hrs : allotted programs with meals/snacks in between ;

2^nd day/5^th Jan/Saturday =

0730-0900 : Beginning with Breakfast for the overnight-stayed Ex cadets &

Present Cadets ;

0930 – 1600 : Allotted programs with meals/snacks in between .

The exact allocation of all the programs shall be made at the last meeting prior Jubilee & shall be available on arrival .

1. 5.   LOGISTIC SERVICES :
   1. Boat Services : Sufficient/ uninterrupted boat services will be available, at arrival, at 4^th midnight & at departure ; slotted services will be provided in between which shall be notified & well declared .

     Academy buses shall be available at joining, midnight & departure, as reqd –

     Final timing & spot shall be notified by follow up mail .

1. Night stay :

1.  With one batch just passed out, there will be one floor vacant in the Academy which can accommodate abt 250~~300 persons in 5 wings ; 3 wings will be allocated for the cadets of 30 to 47^th batch, I(one) wing for the Ex Cadets above  batch 30 & 1(one) wing for the Ladies ; anybody can use the scope, as long as available .

2.  There are few guest rooms in the Academy ; those will be reserved for the    1^st batch or BD Mariners senior to them & down the line, first cum first serve  basis .

 3. All others will be self-arrangement with mates, colleagues, Hotels etc –     those who  reqr assistance in hotel booking may pls contact MarEngr Sarwar of   Prantik Marine,  (mob 01819313009) or Capt Jalal (mob 01819611999) at  least 7 days earlier – especial discount rates are arranged/available .

      6. CIRCULATIONS : Are being made as follows :

a.  Paper declaration 1^st week Dec & 2^nd week Dec ;

b.  Mass circulation by E-mail, as before, in the 1^st week of Dec ; again in 3^rd week of  Dec ;

c.  Request to respective batches for Batch wise circulation ;

d.  Request to institutions to circulate – Academy, DG Shipping, NIB, IMaerst,   Classes, BSC, Shipping Office etc ;

e.  One of the TV channel etc ;

e.  Info by Facebook/twitter etc – Has already been initiated .

      8. PUBLICATIONS & MAGAZINES :

1. 1.    Crorepotra – Will be published, on/abt Jubilee date, as suitable ;

1. 2.    Magazine : This year Sagor Dhak (published by the Academy every Dec) will be dedicated to Golden Jubilee ; acc’ly will be named & called as magazine of Golden Jubilee .

 

In that context, Everybody is requested to send any material possible by 15 th of Dec  .

 

Advertisement – 1^st page, last page (inside & outside) reserved for the Sponsor & Co-sponsors .

Normal – Full page 50,000/, Half page – 25,000/-

   9. INVITATION :

a.  All Ex Academy Commandants will be invited by the Commandant ;

b. The Organizing Committee will invite flwg : Sponsors, M.D./BSC, Chairman/Port, DG Shipping, Ship-owners, Com-Chit, very senior distinguished mariners & likewise – this list may enlarge as reqd .

Individual names are given for ref, but it is expected everybody will delegate               his nominee in the office . Everyone will be called from the committee for exchange on the matter .

    11. MISC INFOS :

1. a.   Renowned band/artists will  be available for cultural show ;
2. b.   Lighting & decoration : Academy will be adequately lighted & sufficient arrangement for seating & eating will be there ;
3. c.    Food & Snacks :  Sufficient quality food & snacks will be arranged ; Closing with Mezban . ( All food Package from a reputed hotel in the city) ;
4. d.   Volunteers : There will be sufficient volunteers to guide & look after the comfort & events ;
5. e.   Gift/Souvenir box will be handed over on arrival ;
6. f.     Capt Salah Uddin & MarEng Mobin has been entrusted with responsibility to organize Non Academy Bangladeshi Mariners ;
7. g.   There will be a souvenir shop from the Ex Cadets & another snacks shop ;
8. h.   The committee is arranging finance thru contributions from various organizations mainly marine related & also by themselves;

 

Any direct donation from any Ex Cadets are encouraged ; any collection of contributors are also welcome .

 

1. i.     Volunteers from the Ex Cadets, especially from 30th to 46th batch are encouraged to join & help the old Cadets ; Pls contact Capt Jalal (mob 01819611999) ;
2. j.     Batch wise rep. will be collected as much as possible to liason respective batches ;
3. k.   One minute silence for the deceased Ex Cadets will be observed .
4. l.     Medical facilities shall be available ;
5. m.  There will be some interesting & innovating events too .
6. n.   Security arrangements  will be made at Jetty head & Academy premises by informing & engaging related PS from the Acdemy .
