His Excellency Efthimos E. Mitropoulos, Secretary General of IMO visited Academy

This is to be noted with a great pleasure that the Secretary General of IMO His Excellency Efthimos E. Mitropoulos has visited Bangladesh Marine Academy on 13 January 2011.

During the visit he has been honored with a Guard of Honor Parade by the Cadets in presence of the Secretary (Ministry of Shipping), Commandant, Officers & Instructors of the Academy, WMU Graduates and distinguished guests. He has also unveiled the Seafarers Memorial and planted a Mango tree (national tree of Bangladesh).

At the end of his visit he has commented in Academy’s visitor’s Book as below:

“I received the salute during an impeccably organized parade at the Academy today. I was impressed by the overall appearance and performance of the Cadets and congratulate the Commandant and his associates for the discipline they have instilled in them and their high morale. I wish the Academy every success in its noble aspiration to become a University.”
