Letter to Bangladeshi Mariners regarding Get-together – August 2008

Sub: Bangladeshi Mariners Get-together – August 2008

Dear  All,

Salaam .

Hope you all are doing well. You may recall that  an email was sent in early  Jan ’08  on the captioned subject  requesting  written confirmation from the mariners interested to participate.  Today the ‘Get-together’  committee met in a local restaurant to discuss the progress.

The committee  expressed disappointment  at the level of  written response recieved.  Only a few mariners sent written response and amongst them some apologised as they are likely to be  away during  summer  holdiays of  the  school.

It was decided to send a final request for written confirmation with  further information about the expected charges to be paid per head. Assuming at least 50 Adults and 25 children will be partcipating ,  the charges to be paid was decided as follows :

Adults  and  ( children aged  more than 12 year )  =             GBP  50.00 per person
Children (aged  more than 6 year  but less than 12 year ) =  GBP  25.00 per person
Children ( less than 6 year )                                          =   Free

The committee took into consideration the charges fixed during previous ‘get-together’  but noted that  this  year  charges were a bit higher view  costs for  ‘bus trip’   and  ‘inflation’.  However,  if  more response than estimated (  50 adult , 25 children ) is recieved ,  it may be possible to make some reduction in the charges.

The committee requests all again to send the written confirmation of the number of adults and children (less than 12 )  joining per family before 17th  February.  In the event that the written confirmation remains low ,  the committee  will have no option but to defer the proposed  ‘get-together’ date to be decided later .
