Ship design has come long way from steam to electrical propulsion which a great leap forward. The U.S. Navy has mandated that all military equipments to have advanced electric propulsion power. Both military and commercial ships require tremendous amount of electrical power within the limited ship’s envelope. The design development process of such electric propulsion along with traditional ship’s electrical systems are uniquely developed and systematically presented in this book. The author has taken special care of presenting this book in a way that the reader can easily understand the electrical components of the vessel. Diagrams and tables are very simplistic and could easily be understood by the ship owners, operators, consultants, designers and university students.
It is a recommended reading for the professionals involved in ship construction business.
